We have outstanding results to share with you from August's PR report, including the highest EAV figure of the year. Well done to the Media Centre! You can also see the website report from August which now has updates on the great leads we are achieving through live chat. 

In addition, we are introducing new tools for you to use. This includes new Fine & Country logos for video content so that our brand image remains consistent and this year's Sports and Social Calendar and Christmas Cards, which are a great way to keep happy relations with your customers. The deadline to order these is fast approaching - Friday 14th October. Top tip: be ready to send your Christmas cards to arrive in the first week of December so that the Fine & Country card stands out on the mantelpiece. All proceeds from the cards go to the Fine & Country Foundation, so help us to continue supporting the homeless during the festive time. 

As we step into the autumn, there is much happening across the Fine & Country network. It is now time to think about your entries into this year's Fine & Country Awards, which will be taking place at the Annual Conference on 27th January 2017.

Not to forget, we have created a mini moving guide for you to share with your customers with tips and checklists to help them when moving home, reinstating how at Fine & Country we have an interest to help our customers with every step of the moving house process. 

Outside of the UK, Fine & Country South Africa have been inspired by the Fine & Country Foundation and are setting up their own Foundation to support homelessness. 

Finally, as summer is ending, the time has come to announce this year's well deserved Fine & Country Garden Competition winner, which was judged by Martyn Cox, named the National Newspaper Gardening Journalist of the Year 2016 at the LSL Awards.

2017 Fine & Country Awards

 
The annual Fine & Country Property Awards are fast approaching, so the time has come for you and your team to start thinking about which awards you wish to focus on. 
 
Every Fine & Country office is automatically entered into all the categories. However, if you would like to make a supplementary application for the judges consideration, the deadline is 23rd December, 2016
 
The Awards will be presented at the Annual Conference on Friday 27th January, 2017
 
 
The Award Categories are as follows: 
 
The Property Presentation Award
 
This award recognises the finest presentation of residential property, including photography, website exposure and marketing materials. 
 
 
Marketing and Promotion Award
 
This award identifies the Fine & Country office which best markets and promotes itself and the Fine & Country brand. 
 
 
Listing Achievement Award
 
The Listing Achievement Award commends the Fine & Country office which has excelled in market share sales during 2016.
 
 
Best On-Brand Award
 
This award commends the Fine & Country office that excels visually whilst remaining true to the Fine & Country brand. This includes the use of branding, interior design and the use of other techniques which work to maximise the character of the office and working environment.
 
 
Referrals and Networking Award
 
This awards commends the Fine & Country office which utilises the referral system the most effectively.
 
All offices are automatically entered. The winner of this award will be the Fine & Country office who has made the most outbound selling referrals during 2016.
 
 
Best Newcomer
 
This ward recognises one of the offices that has joined the network this year, who has embraced, developed and promoted the Fine & Country brand to best effect. 
 
 
The Fine & Country Foundation Award
 
This award recognises the person who has been committed in helping the Fine & Country Foundation, by office and personally, putting themselves out to raise awareness and support for such a great cause. 
 

Best PR and Social Media 
 
This award is for the office who works with/responds to the Media Centre most efficiently, including replying to PR opps, sending content for the Social Media pages, tweeting and calling to tell the Media Centre about proactive stories. 
 
 
Best  Overall Fine & Country Operator
 
The best Fine & Country Operator award is the pinnacle of the Fine & Country Awards, reserved for exceptional performance and outstanding efforts in all things 'Fine & Country'. This award is not simply commending the office with the most aforementioned awards won instead, the 'Best Estate Agency Award' commends the office that excels beyond numerical data, displaying the Fine & Country spirit throughout all of its endeavours.
 
The winner of this award would be the agent with displaying overall first class performance and commitment to such things as; presentation, marketing, sales and market share performance.

These branded cards are a fantastic tool for raising brand awareness in the local community and spreading the Christmas cheer.

Top tip: post Monday 28th November so they would have arrived by Thursday 1st December. This will be one of the first Christmas cards people get, so it will stand out and get pride of place on their mantel piece.

This is a great advert for Fine & Country and will be displayed for four or more weeks. So if they decide to instruct a new agent in January, they are more likely to call you.

Website performance report

The Fine & Country website is being consistently reviewed and improved, aiming to drive traffic and increase valuation requests. Recently, website traffic has increased and brand awareness has increased from the introduction and success of the blog as well as exposure on the social media pages, it is especially driven by the Facebook page.

 

 

Audience Overview 

> There has been an increase in the overall number of visits to the site since July 2015. The total number of sessions has increased to 200,626, an increase of 8.94% over last year (when the number was 184,164).

> Likewise, the numbers of users has increased by 12.16% since August 2015.
 
 

 

 

 

Geography

It is interesting to see that the volume of traffic from the United States has increased since Brexit (form 1,800 visitors in May to 2,544 in August). 

 

 

Devices

> Desktops account for 39.07% of visits, tablets for 24.91% & mobiles for 36.02%.

> There was a significant increase in the proportion of mobile sessions which increased far in excess of the proportional increase in visitors. Mobile visits increased 21.97% compared to August 2015.
 
> The engagement for desktops & tablets is much greater: these groups spend longer on the site, convert better & are less likely to bounce than mobile traffic.
 
> Both desktop & tablet traffic spend around 5 minutes on the site on average with mobile traffic spending 2m 33s on average.

 

 

Demographics

> The most engaged group is the 55-64 age range (4.82 pages per session & average session duration of 4m 53s).

> The 35 – 44 age group provide the largest volume of visitors (22,213).

 

 

 

 

 Social

> Facebook is the biggest generator of social traffic with 13,818 visits and is up 144.54% year-on-year.

> There were over 155.13% more sessions via social referral compared to last year which is a significant increase. Most of this seems to have been generated by an increase in Facebook traffic.

> Twitter’s traffic also increased from 185 to 1,256 visitors.

 

 

 

 

 

Referral Traffic

> Referral traffic is up 42.79% over the last 12 months. A large proportion of this seems to have been driven by increases in traffic from Facebook & Twitter.

> It is noticeable that most of the referral traffic to Fine & Country is traffic that it has generated through its own social media efforts.

Record breaking results in this month's PR report

The Media Centre have had a fantastic month with the year's highest EAV figures and record breaking Twitter results. Social Media has also remained strong, where we consistently look for new content to increase interaction and circulation has increased. 

 

EAV

Total EAV this month is &701,751, the highest figure of the year and is also &117,857 higher this year than August 2015. We have also been featured 77 times and have continued to have strong coverage in a variety of publications including The Mail Online, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Week, The Guardian, and the Saturday Express magazine.

 

 

 

Circulation

Circulation has increased to 22,348,694 in August compared to 16,405,531 in July and is 5,270,428 higher than in August 2015. 

 

 

 

Online Coverage (MUU)

MUU was 1,275,311,799 in August, which is considerably higher than months previous to March 2016. MUU has overall greatly increased due to utilising news portals to distribute articles, which have resulted in coverage in the Mail Online, The Metro, and international websites. 

 

 

SOCIAL MEDIA

 

 

TOTAL FOLLOWERS August: 8,221 (July: 7,803)

• We had 403 new followers this month, which greatly exceeds our target of 200 a month.

• We continue to tweet a mixture of properties on the market, property news, Fine & Country news, lifestyle and interior tweets.

 

 

 

TOTAL LIKES July: 5,821 (June: 5,331)

• The huge increase is because we have started to advertise as well as boost posts. We advertised by page like, so we pay per like, which has increased our exposure massively.

• Our posts continue to receive a strong number of likes and shares. We are seeing an increase in people tagging their friends in posts too which increases the reach of each post.

The most successful posts in July:

• Top reach: Go down the road less travelled with these beautiful lesser-known towns and villages (23,341 reach)

• Most engaging post: Property of the Day: Stunning Grade ll Listed barn conversion for sale in the Lake District (1,300k reactions, 1,332 Post Clicks)

• Number of followers in August 1,931 (July 1,876)

• Most clicked on post: Learn more about working in the luxury property market at Fine & Country Droitwich Spa's recruitment evening on 29th September at 6:30pm (29 clicks).

• Most impressions: Go down the road less travelled with these beautiful lesser-known towns and villages (2,816 impressions).

• Most engaging post overall: Splash out on these ten homes with amazing swimming pools this summer(3.57%).

• We have increased corporate content on LinkedIn to attract potential licensees and industry experts.

Fine & Country Foundation: launch in South Africa

Fine & Country South Africa have followed the footsteps of the Fine & Country Foundation here in the UK, setting up their own Foundation to help the homeless. It is fantastic that the success of the Fine & Country Foundation here has inspired South Africa to raise money for such a worthwhile cause.
 
Last month, Tony Webb did a power-point presentation to the Fine & Country Western Cape Branch Principals explaining what the Fine & Country Foundation hoped to achieve and how South Africa could take up the challenge and set up a similar Foundation. The presentation went well and it was agreed that South Africa should pursue the concept.
 
Linda Erasmus is also planning on doing a presentation to the Johannesburg branches and wants to set up a section 21 company, which is a non-profit company that could manage the charity/foundation funds.

More recently, the Fine & Country False Bay office situated just outside of Cape Town organised a fashion show in the little fishing village of Kommetjie. It went extremely well and over R15000 was raised. The proceeds of the Fashion Show will be going to Living Hope, which supports those living on the streets.
 
 
 
 We wish the Fine & Country Foundation South Africa every success and look forward to more updates on what great events they are hosting to raise money for such a rife cause that affects so many around the world.  



The winner of the Fine & Country Garden Competition has been announced

The Fine & Country Garden Competition winner has now been revealed, judged by Martyn Cox, named the National Newspaper Gardening Journalist of the Year 2016 at the LSL Awards.
 
This year's winner was Louise Whittington from the West Midlands and her prize, two tickets to the renowned Chelsea Flower Show 2017. 
 
 
Martyn said, "The standard of entries in the Fine & Country Gardening Competition was very high this year, with gardens varying greatly in size, location and style. The property in Solihull stood out for me as it is beautiful and romantic, but very achievable by anyone, whatever their budget.

 

The owners’ passion for gardening is clear, with them taking on a tired and overgrown plot just seven years ago, and turning it into the kind of garden anyone would be proud of. This property may be in a busy suburb, but set foot in the garden and there is great privacy, and many areas to sit where it’s possible to escape the daily grind."


David Lindley, CEO of Fine & Country says, “We see so many beautiful gardens in our profession, we wanted to celebrate them, regardless of whether the properties were for sale or not. Louise Whittington’s garden is a worthy winner of the competition. We would like to thank all those who took part this year by either entering their garden or voting for their favourite entry, and to Martyn for his expert opinion.”
