A group of eight from Fine & Country Park Lane, in association with the Fine & Country Foundation, are supporting the homeless charity Centrepoint by taking part in Centrepoint’s Sleep Out event on 6th November 2014 in Shoreditch, London.
Centrepoint’s Sleep Out is an organised annual event in which participants must commit to spending one night sleeping outside with just a sleeping bag to raise money for young homeless people in the UK. The aim of the event is not to replicate the dangers of homelessness but to give those involved an insight into some of the realities including the cold, damp, noise and sleep deprivation.
Last year saw more than 1,000 people sleep out for Centrepoint in cold temperatures, raising more than &370,000. The money raised goes towards housing, education and healthcare for young homeless people in the UK.
Lauren McFarland, Jasmine O'Dell, Emilie Despois, Louise Clarke, Nicola Laggett, Jo Ryan, Rebecca Simpson and Imogen Gartside have a group target of &2,000 (&250 each).
Mike Bidwell, Fine & Country's Head of Sales says, “The Fine & Country Foundation was set up last year with the aim of raising money and supporting charities to help tackle one of the UK's biggest social issues – homelessness. Centrepoint is a brilliant charity for us to support. They give young homeless people a chance to change their lives for the better so the team are all very happy to give up their beds for a night for such a worthwhile cause.”
