Fine & Country Portugal, in an initiative organised by the Algarve offices, staged a one-day exhibition and seminar at the prestigious Majestic Hotel in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on November 28th for almost 200 potential property investors. The event showcased properties by Fine & Country both in the Algarve and greater Lisbon area.
The event targeted primarily expats living in the city who may choose to return to Europe and can benefit from the tax breaks offered in Portugal. The country's “Non Habitual Residence scheme" offers zero tax on pensions and other passive income for a period of 10 years. They also targeted wealthy Malaysian nationals for Portugal’s highly successful Golden Visa residency scheme, a fast track for foreign investors from non-EU countries to obtain a fully valid residency permit in Portugal.
Presenters included industry experts Gavin Scott, senior partner of Blevins Franks-Europe’s leading financial planning and investment firm, Diego Viñal from international law firm Antonio Viñal & Cº and Chitra Stern, co-founder of Martinhal Resorts, a luxury resort in Algarve.
The event was held at the prestigious Majestic Hotel, a member of Leading Hotels of the World. Attendees savoured canapés and authentic Portuguese wines interspersed between informative seminars.
Zoie Hawker of Fine & Country Algarve said “We were overwhelmed by the response to this global outreach. The seminars were well received and we had to expand capacity to accommodate double the number of registrations planned. Grateful for the support of the Fine & Country IT team who hosted an online registration page on the Fine & Country Portugal website.”
